What is Zepbound?
Zepbound (tirzepatide) is a prescription injection used in adults with obesity or overweight who also have at least one weight-related health condition, to help achieve and maintain significant weight loss alongside diet and exercise. It is a dual glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) and glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist, the first of its kind approved specifically for chronic weight management. Zepbound is manufactured by Eli Lilly and Company and is the same molecule as Mounjaro, which is FDA-approved for type 2 diabetes.
